In the expert's mind there are few possibilities. In the beginner's mind, infinite possibilities.
"15 million Americans include some form of Yoga in their fitness regimen - twice as many as did 5 years ago" - Time Magazine
ABOUT US: Peter Gibbon and Patricia Foley, Co- Directors and Instructors

Having practiced and studied Kripalu yoga since 1993, we have decided to open a home studio to share our love of yoga and yogic practices with others in a safe and conducive environment.

After a career in the commercial insurance industry, Peter has decided to devote full time to teaching yoga. He also teaches larger group classes at the Silver Spring YMCA, Bally's in Wheaton, and Royal Fitness in Bethesda. In the past, Peter has also taught corporate classes for City Fitness at various sites in DC, including the IMF, the World Bank, the National Teachers Association, and NSF. He is certified by the Kripalu Center at the 500 hour professional level and has also trained in Vipassana Meditation and done some work in the Insight Meditation traditon. In addition, he has trained with Shiva Ray in techniques of Vinyasa flow and taken many in depth workshops in yogic practices, particularly pranayama with senior teachers at the Kripalu center in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Pat holds a Ph.D. in Communication and is professor at Gallaudet University. She is certified by the Kripalu Center at the 200 hour level and has a particular interest in energy work. Pat will be teaching courses in the fundamentals of yoga, sharing the practices and values gleaned from many years of dedicated practice. As time permits, she will offer more advanced and vigorous Kripalu classes.

We also plan to occasionally co-teach some classes, blending and sharing our areas of strength and experience.

Swami Kripaluvanandaji (Bapuji), spiritual leader of Kripalu Center said, "Love is the seed, surrender the bud, and service the fruit. Serve with a full heart. By making others happy, you make yourself happy."
